1902 Bronze Medal Sesquicentennial of George Washington's Initiation As a Freemason Grand Lodge Of Pennsylvania

Description: A mint state heavy bronze medal from 1902. This is the medal issued by the Masonic Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania to commemorate the Sesquicentennial of the George Washington's initiation as a Freemason. The medal shows the bust of George Washington facing left on the obverse with the legend "SESQUI.CENTENNIAL.OF.WASHINGTON'SINITIATION.AS.A.FREEMASON.A.L.5902" surrounding the bust. The obverse also has Masonic dates for the various milestones of Washington's progress within the Freemasons hierarchy. The reverse has the image of a woman's head in the center with rays radiating from the center. It has the legend "GRAND LODGE OF PENNSYLVANIA; VIRTUTE, SILENTIO, AMORE" along the edge of the reverse. Weight and Size: The medal weighs ~76 grams, is ~52 millimeters in diameter, and ~4 millimeters thick at the edge.

Condition: The medal is in excellent condition and if it was a coin I would grade it mint state. The medal has no observable wear with minimum surface marks or scratches. It has what I view as beautiful dark brown coloring and is problem free. The medal has minor rubbing to the tip of the nose of the woman on the reverse.
