1937 Currency Bank of Canada One Dollar Banknote King George VI Pick 58e XF+
Description: A nice extremely fine or much better banknote from Canada. This is the one dollar banknote dated January 2nd 1937 and signed by Coyne and Towers. The banknote is black on green underprint and shows the bust of King George VI of Great Britain facing forward in the center of the front. the back which is green has an allegorical image of a seated woman with cornucopia at her feet. The front shows the two signatures, the date, the serial number as well as the denomination spelled out and in numerals. The note is bilingual and is written in French and English. This particular note has the serial number N/N 3891931 displayed in red twice on the front. The note has no watermark that we could find. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice extremely fine or much better condition. The note has all of its details very well preserved and retains most of its original crispiness. It has very light central vertical folds. It also has some minor nicks in the center of the top and bottom edges. Its corners show some rounding and bumps. It has some minor soiling but no stains. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, and no tears or splits. Truly a nice example of this rather scarce note to add to your collection. Please see scans for additional condition information.
