1941 Mozambique 2 1/2 Escudos Banknote Pick Number 82 F. de Oliveira Chamico and Ship Images Banco Nacional Ultamarino "Choice" Very Good
Description: A beautiful "choice" very fine Banknote from Mozambique on the eastern coast of Africa . This is the 1 September 1941 two and a half Escudos, issued during the Portuguese administration. The banknote has blue design on brown and yellow under-print on the front. The front also has the name of Banco Nacional Ultramarino (National Overseas Bank) of Lisbon Portugal in the top margin and indicates that it is from the Provincia de Mozambique or the Province of Mozambique. The banknote displays the date and the denomination on the front and only the denomination on the back. The front also depicts a the bank's seal to the right, which displays a steam ship as well as the bust of F. de Oliveira Chamico in a circular frame to the left. The note has the image of a seated woman with sailing ships in the background all in dark green coloring on the back. The note has two signatures on the front. This particular note has the serial number A2358570, which is displayed on the front twice, but is not displayed on the back. The note is graded as Very Fine 25 by PCGS and comes in a plastic holder so noted. It is our opinion that the note is under-graded and should have graded at least choice very fine 35. It is fresh, well margined with no tears, no pinholes, and has strong and very fresh colors. Please carefully view scan as it is part and parcel of our description.
