1960 Mali 1000 Francs Banknote Bank of the Republic of Mali Pick Number 4 Nice Very Good or Much Better
Description: A nice very good or much better banknote from the republic of Mali. This is the 22 September 1960, one thousand francs note issued by the Bank of the Republic of Mali. The note depicts the image of Modibo Keïta Mali's first president after its independence from France. The note is dated September 22, 1960 and is blue in color over a green and orange background. The back of the note has the image of a man in front of huts all in blue coloring. The front of the note has two signatures, the serial number as well as the denomination. The back only shows the denomination. This particular note has the serial number 079787 and is from series A23, both of which are printed in red on the front. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Pick Number: P 4 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B104a.
Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice very good or much better with all the details being still preserved. The note is well used but not abused and is still intact. Corners have wear with some rounding, while the edges are mostly intact with tiny nicks at the ends of the folds but no tears or splits. The note is soiled and has some staining all of which can be seen in the scans. The note has a small and barely visible hole in its center from excessive folding. It still retain some of its stiffness and if it was not for the central hole due to folding, I would have graded it a fine or better. A great and relatively inexpensive example of this scarce note to add to your collection. Please see the scan for additional condition information.
