  • $ 67.77

Description: This is a small round Russian lacquer box made at the Fedoskino school of miniature painting outside Moscow Russia. The small box is round with a lift off lid. The lid is decorated with a hand painted miniature. The painting shows a Troika of horses pulling a sled with three people sitting in it. There are homes in the distance and trees in the fore front. The painting is very well done and shows great details of the scene suggesting the piece was painted by a great miniature artist. The painted scene is surrounded by a gold-colored circles and dots alternating along the edge of the lid. The round box has a round base with straight rising sides that are decorated with a gold-colored motif that encircles the entire box on a black background. The base of the box is also black. The inside of the box has the usual red color. The bottom of the miniature has the word Fedoskino, then the date 95 for 1995 followed by the signature of the artist, which we believe is Toldinin Yu. The box comes in what we believe is an original cardboard box decorated in the exterior with a floral motif and is lined with a cotton like material.
