1999 Carved Lacquered Wood Small Bird Perched on Branch Lohnes Leavenworth, WA
Description: A hand carved lacquered wood American Folk Art bird on branch. The carving shows what we believe is a sparrow perched on a horizontal portion of a branch. The bird carving is smooth and shows detail of the shape of the body and tail. It also shows a head with a beak and two small eyes. The bird has wire legs which are well inserted in the wood of the branch. The bird's eyes appear to be plastic. The entire piece has a light brown color and is lacquered to show the beauty of the wood as well as the knots in the branch. The back of the branch is unfinished and has a hole from which it can be hung on the wall. The branch will be parallel to the wall with the horizontal piece having the bird standing sticking out. A beautiful decorative piece for your home or to add to your collection. The piece is marked on the back and appears to be a numbered piece and part of a 7000 piece issue. A very well-made hand carved piece of American Folk Art to add to your Americana Collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
