Antique Hand Painted Miniature of A Beautiful Woman in Oval Brass Frame
Description: An Antique very well-done hand painted miniature of a woman in an oval brass colored frame. The miniature shows a woman with brown hair and blue eyes looking sideways. She is wearing red lipstick, a white shirt, and a pearl necklace around her neck. Her cheeks have a hint of redness, which gives the image a great look. The woman is drawn on a dark background with hints of brown, green and blue and sort of fades into it. The frame has a loop on top to hang from, is decorated with a floral design along the edge, and the back is solid brass with the image being covered with glass for protection. A very well done painting by what we believe is an accomplished artist. A great piece ready to hang on your wall or add to your miniature collection. Date: Uncertain but most likely sometime in late 1800s or early 1900s.
Origin: Recently acquired at an estate sale in Southeast Pennsylvania.
Size: The piece measure ~3 1/2" by ~3" with the loop on tope adding ~5/8" past the frame's edge. The piece weighs about 2.5 ounces.

Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a nice hand painted miniature very well done, beautiful, and in great condition. It would make a worthy addition to your collection.
Condition: The piece is in very good condition given its age. It has no breaks and no repairs. The glass cover has a small chip at the edge at about 5 o'clock and is a bot loos in the sense that it moves slightly up and down in the frame. It has no losses to its colors and looks great. The frame has a few minor scratches and is a bot soiled and it would probably benefit from a good cleaning to bring the frame's full beauty. Be that as it may, these are truly a non-issue and are mentioned here for completeness. A great decorative piece to add to your collection.
