Beautiful Silver Small Coin 1910 AD 1327 AH year 2 Key Date Egyptian One Qirsh Ottoman Sultan Muhammad V ANACS AU55

Description: A beautiful about uncirculated lustrous small silver coin from Egypt. This is the rare one Qirsh (low mintage of 251,000) coin from the reign of Muhammad V the Ottoman Sultan, who ruled over the Muslim world at the time. The coin is graded by ANACS as AU55 and comes in a plastic slab so marked. The obverse of the coin shows the sultan's toughra, a rose to the right and above the tughra and the denomination below it all surrounded by a wreath with crossing quivers at the bottom. The reverse says Duribah Fi Misr (struck in fustat on the outskirts of Cairo the current capital of Egypt) with the number 2 for the 2nd year of Muhammad V's reign over the letter "Beh" on top and three stars above it all. There is also Muhammad V accession year of 1327 AH below it, all surrounded by a floral and foliate design along the edge. It is KM 305 measuring approximately 16 mm in diameter and weighing about 1.4 grams of 0.833 Silver. The coin has a reeded rim. The coin is rather rare with a low mintage of only 251,000 which is rather low for such a low denomination small coin. Date: 1910AD - 1327 AH year 2 of Mohammad V's reign. 1910 is the first year this coin was issued and as such is a key date.

Mint: Egypt, actually these were struck in Birmingham England as evidenced by the "H" in the bottom of the obverse.

Size and Weight: This is a one Qirsh and is ~16 mm in diameter and weighs ~1.47 grams.

Condition: The coin is graded by ANACS as AU 55 and comes in a plastic slab marked as such. It has luster and all of its details are well preserved with the slightest wear.
