  • $ 127.77

Description: A very decorative and colorful framed oil on velveteen primitive painting depicting a yellow and blue colored bird landing on a nest having 4 blue eggs in it. The bird is very colorful with brown, yellow, dark blue, white and black colors throughout. The bird has its wings opening and appears to be landing on a brown colored nest hanging on a tree branch/. The nest has four blue colored eggs in it. The tree branch is brown and had leaves that are colored in green, yellow, and brown. The artwork is signed in the lower right corner by the artist. The painting comes in a wooden frame with alternating dark and lightened brown sections. We believe the lightened section are made with by brushing white coloring over the dark brown coloring of the frame. The artwork is covered with glass for protection. The piece has brown paper backing with a wire across to hang from. The piece is not dated, but is signed Bill Rank. Mr. Rank, an artist from Southeastern Pennsylvania, lived in the period 1921-2000. Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a beautiful and very nice decorative primitive Pennsylvania Dutch style art piece. It would display very well in your collection or can be used as an accent for your home décor.

Condition: The piece is in very good condition with no problems that we could find. The frame has a few scratches and dings and the glass cover is a bit loose moving slightly when the piece is shaken. The paper covering on the back shows cracking along the inner edge of the wooden frame and some of the nails holding the artwork in, are pushing against the paper. However, the paper is in place and shows no appreciable losses. This of course this paper can be replaced with new paper, but we leave that to the discretion of the new owner. The back is also equipped with wire needed to hang the piece. This however, is a non-issue and does not affect the quality or beauty of the piece. A great piece, ready to hang on your wall and would be a good addition to your collection of folk art. Please view photos carefully for additional condition information and to appreciate the beauty of this nice piece.
