Crown Size Silver Coin from The Philippines 1897 One Peso Choice Extremely Fine to About Uncirculated King Alfonso XIII
Description: A beautiful crown size silver coin from the Philippines. This is the 1897 one peso silver coin displaying the bust of the child king Alfonso XIII of Spain facing left on the obverse. The reverse displays a crowned shield surrounded by pillars. in the center within a circle and having a wreath around it. The Obverse has the legend "ALFONSO XIII P.L.G.D.D.REY C.DE ESPANA; 1897." The coin has the denomination below the shield on the reverse with the legend "ISLAS FILIPINAS" above it. This is KM 154 weighing ~25 grams of 0.8350 silver and measuring about 38 mm in diameter. The coin has a stars along the edge. The coin is beautiful with quite a bit of its original mint luster still evident and displaying minimum wear. Condition: I would grade this coin as choice extremely fine to almost uncirculated. The coin has all of its details well preserved with minimum wear to some of the high points. It retains quite a bit of its original mint luster and has great eye appeal. It does have scratches and bag marks throughout, but is still great looking.
