Description: A nice crisp uncirculated Banknote from the Republic Ireland. This is the Central Bank of Ireland five pounds note dated 12 January 1981 (12.01.81). The banknote is brown and red-violet in color on multi-colored underprint. It depicts the image of Johannes Scotus Eriugena to the right of the front with writing in the background. The back has the same color scheme as the front with writing in the background and the image of a leaping wild cat. The note has the signatures of Murray and Cofaigh displayed on the front, which also displays the serial number, the denomination and the date. This particular note has the serial number IFA 616626 shown in both red and black on the front. The note has a watermark displaying the head lady Hazel Lavery and also has a solid security thread left of center.
