This 100 Francs banknote is dark blue and black on green and blue underprint on the front. The note has a radiant red and blue design emanating from a central frame on the back. The back of the note has the French flag in the center with the words Liberte; Egalite; Fraternite surrounding it. The note is unsigned and has no water mark. It has the serial number 35416834. It also has the text EMIS EN FRANCE and SERIE DE 1944 on the front. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.
Date: 1944.
Printer: Forbes Lithograph Manufacturing Co., Boston, USA.
Size: Bothe notes are similar in size and measure ~6 1/8" by ~2 5/8".
Pick Number: P118a.
Condition: I would grade this banknote as choice about uncirculated. The note retains all of its original stiffness, crispiness and sheen. It has no folds, no tears, no splits, no pinholes, no graffiti, and is clean with no stains. The corners are intact and fully squared with minimum rounding if any. The left side corners of the back, both top and bottom, show small creases and bumps, which is the reason we grade the note Choice About Uncirculated instead of straight Uncirculated. A great note from the end of World War II that is in great condition and would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
