Small Bronze Medal Standing Soldier with Rifle In Memoriam Jackson June 5, 1891
Description: A nice small bronze medal, that is holed for suspension, depicting a standing soldier holding a rifle by his side on the obverse. The reverse has the legend "IN MEMORIAM/ JACKSON/ JUNE 5' 1891" within a wreath. Both obverse and reverse have a dentilated border. It is not clear who is the Jackson memorialized by this medal and our research did not identify a similar medal. The medal is nicely toned and is in very fine condition or much better. It is holed for suspension and has a plain edge. It is 23 mm in diameter and weighs slightly over 4 grams. A nice very fine, obviously military in nature medal, to add to your collection.
