Unusual 2000 Shooner Glazed and Colorful Redware Large Seated Cat Figurine
Description: A very nice and rather unusual glazed and colorful redware cat figurine made Greg? Shooner. The piece, which is dated 2000, is a reproduction of a 19th century figurine made by the Shooners. It represents a cat sitting on its behind on a raised green platform. The hollow figurine shows the tan colored cat with dark brown highlights having its head turned sideways and its ears perked up. It is glazed with a beautiful tan and dark brown coloring. The piece is marked as to the maker and dated in several spots around the base and on the inside. It shows nice details of the cat's face, its tail, and the body form in general. Very interesting and unusual piece by shooner, which would make a great decorative accent or an addition to your collection. A very nicely done and top-quality unusual piece. Size: This figurine is ~7" high and the base is ~5 1/4" by ~3 3/4". The piece weighs a little over one pound and 14 ounces.

Marks: "Shooner 2000" incised in block letters on the base and on the inside of the piece.
Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a rather nice decorative piece. A definite beauty deserving of a prominent spot in any redware collection.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition. unintentional chips, cracks, repairs or hairlines. The figurine does have intentional crazing, a few spots where the glaze is lost, and some imperfections in the surface. All of these can be seen in the photo.
