1991 Carved Wood Canvasback Duck Decoy By Ed Green of Baltimore MD Glass Eyes
Description: A beautiful decorative painted carved wood small duck decoy. This is a decoy of a canvasback drake or male duck. The piece is black and gray in color with white highlights, a maroon colored head, and black beak or bill. The decoy has what we believe is glass eyes. The decoy has no carved details except for general shape and curves within the head and the general shape of the wings. The wings are also outline in color with gray and maroon colored feathers. The decoy has a flat unpainted bottom, which is signed and dated by the artist. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: The piece is dated 1991.
Origin: Purchased at an estate sale in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Size: The decoy measures ~9" long, ~4 3/8" at its widest, and ~4" at its highest point. The piece weighs about 11 ounces.
Maker: Ed Green.
Marks: Stamped on the bottom "Greens Baltimore, MD" within an oval. It also has writing in ink "(c) 91; Ed Green; Canvasback." See last photo.
Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with minimum wear or losses to the paint. The piece has no breaks or repairs. It has a few minor scratches and dings to the surface but these are difficult to see and are at a minimum. Be that as it may, this is a very nice piece which would display well in any collection or represent a nice decorative accent at your vacation house at the lake. Please see photos for additional condition information.
