Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is an antique and beautiful Jar. It has a very nice form and color, which makes this piece a true beauty.

Condition:  The jar is in excellent condition. It has no cracks, repairs or hairlines. It does have general crazing to the glaze with minimal glaze losses. It also has a one very small chip on the outside of the rim. Additionally it has what looks like a 3/4" chip to the glaze at the rim (see first photo), but after looking at it under a magnifying loop we believe it to be a spot where the glaze may have chipped off during the making and it is original to the piece. Finally as is the case with all these primitive old redware pieces, the jar also has a few of the usual defects you would expect such as pops, unglazed areas and uneven spots. Most important, the lid is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, which is very unusual.
