Distinguishing Characteristics - Most Interesting About The Piece: This is a rather nice antique piece with a beautiful color glaze. A definite beauty deserving of a prominent spot in any antique redware collection.

Condition:  This piece is solid and sound and in excellent condition given it is over 150 years old. There are no cracks or hairlines.  There are several small chips, that have blackened with age, around the rim and the top of the central column. A few additional small chips to the glaze on the outside near the base and has some small losses to the glaze in a few spots. All of these chips and glaze loss spots are old since they are dark with incrusted dirt. Additionally the glaze has considerable crazing from age and use. Finally, as is the case with all these primitive old pottery pieces, the piece has several of the usual defects you would expect such as pops, surface roughness, unglazed areas and uneven spots.
