Description: A good very fine hard times copper token. This 1837 token shows a a woman's head facing left surrounded by 13 stars, with the date 1937 below it and the words "E PLURIBUS UNUM" above it. The reverse shows the image of a building with pillars with the words 14th Ward N York below it and surrounded by the words CENTRE MARKET ACCOMMODATION with two springs of leaves separating Centre Market and Accommodation. A nice looking and very desirable copper Hard Times token, with a rarity index R1, to add to your collection. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in southeastern Pennsylvania, USA.

Weight and Size: The copper token weighs ~8.8 grams, is ~28 millimeters in diameter.

Condition: The token is in good very fine condition. It is nicely toned and has its details fairly well preserved. The token is soiled and shows honest even wear throughout. The letter E in "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on the obverse shows considerable wear. Part of the roof of the building and also the back part of the building on the reverse show considerable wear. The token has some minor scratches and bag marks as well as a spot of verdigris on the reverse. Other than that, the piece is in very fine condition and has nice eye appeal, A nice Hard Times token that is in good very fine condition and is well-preserved to add to your collection.
