Description: A good very fine or better 1863 patriotic Civil War copper token. The token has the image of a French Liberty Head facing left surrounded by 13 6-pointed stars along the edge and having 7 stars in its headband on the obverse. The reverse has a closed wreath along the edge legend with a US Shield at the top within crosses branches and the words "OUR COUNTRY" in two lines. There is a star flanked bey two arrow heads below the legend. The reverse die was made by Sigel according to Fuld. The token has a plain edge, weighs ~2.3 gm and is ~18.5 mm in diameter. A great looking and very interesting Civil War patriotic token to add to your collection. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Marks: Unmarked as to the maker.

Condition: The token is in good very fine condition or much better. It is nicely toned and shows wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The token also has some minor scratches and bag marks to the surfaces. It also has what looks as a strike defect which can be seen at 3:00 o'clock in the third photo in the form of a raised portion of the edge, which translated is a slight waviness along the edge of the obverse at 3:00 o'clock. Be that as it may, this is a nice and well-preserved patriotic Civil War token to add to your collection.
