Description: Beautiful gold coin showing no date from Venice Italy. This is a one Zecchino or Ducat from the times of Pasquale Cicogna in the period of 1585-1595. The coin shows the Doge kneeling before St. Mark, who holds staff in right hand with the letters DVX along the top of the staff and the legend "PASC*CICONI| • S | • M | • V | ? | N | ? | T | I" surrounding the image on the obverse. The reverse shows full length Christ the Redeemer standing facing forward within beaded ellipse lined with 15 stars. The reverse has the legend "SIT·T·XPE·DAT·Q·TV REGIS·ISTE·DVCA." surrounding the image of Christ along the edge. The coin is undated but was issued during the period 1585-1595. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. It is beautiful with great eye appeal. It is Fr. 1270, should weigh ~3.5 gm and measures ~21 mm. The coin is beautiful and is graded Extremely Fine XF45 by PCGS and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. Please carefully review the photos provided as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: The coin is graded XF 45 by PCGS and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. The coin has all of its details well preserved and having wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin still retains some of its luster, has slight waviness to the flan, and shows minor surface marks such as scratches or bag marks. It does have some embedded residual soiling within the lettering. Other than that, the coin is problem free and has great eye appeal. The coin is much better than the photos suggest.
