One Batzen dated 1640 Billon Coin Swiss from Canton of Zurich Choice Very Fine or Better
Description: A beautiful choice very fine to about extremely fine billon coin from Switzerland. This is the 1640 one Batzen Swiss coin from the canton of Zurich. The coin depicts the shield arms representing the canton over a cross on the reverse with the legend "MO NET ANO VA". The obverse shows a double headed imperial eagle surrounded by the date 1640 and the legend "THVRICENSIS". The coin is great looking coin with nice toning and great eye appeal. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.
Mint: Switzerland, Canton of Zurich.
Size and Weight: This is a one Batzen measuring about 24 mm in diameter and weighs ~2 gm.
References: It is KM #50.
Condition: I would grade this coin as choice very fine or better with all the details being well preserved and having wear commensurate with its age and circulated state. The coin has minor ares of strike weakness and the planchet is a bit wavy. However, it is problem free and has great eye appeal. The coin is much better than the scan suggest. Please see photo for additional condition information.
