1913 Silver Coin British West Africa One Shilling Crowned King George PCGS MS62

Description: A beautiful uncirculated 1913 silver coin from British West Africa. This is the one shilling coin depicting King George V of England wearing a crown and facing left on the obverse. There is a legend "GEPRGVIS V.D.G.BRITT.OMN.REX F.D.IND.IMP" surrounding the king's bust on the obverse. The reverse shows a palm tree splitting the date in the center with the denomination below and the word BRITISH WEST AFRICA above. The coin has a beaded edge and reeded rim. This coin is of the variety with no mint mark. The coin is graded as (Mint State) MS62 by PCGS and comes in a plastic slab so labeled. The coin is lightly toned and retains some of its original luster. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Size and Weight: This is a one shilling should weigh ~5.66 gm of 0.925 silver and measures ~23 mm.

References: It is KM #12.

Condition: The coin is graded as mint state MS62 by PCGS and comes in aplastic slab so labeled. It has some soft dark toning to the left of King George's bust and retains some of its original luster. All of its details are well preserved and the coin has nice eye appeal. It is problem free, is in its original uncirculated condition and has no wear commensurate with its uncirculated status.
