1915 Mexico Estado De Durango 25 Centavos Banknote Pick S747 M1508 Apparent UNC

  • $ 57.77

Description: A nice uncirculated Banknote from Durango Mexico. This is the no date twenty-five centavos banknote known to have been issued in 1915 by the State of Durango (El Estado De Durango). The banknote has a black design on an off-white background in the front. The front displays the serial number, the denomination, and three signatures. This note is without series and has no date displayed on the front. The pink colored back of the banknote displays the Mexican arms in the center, which is flanked by the denomination. This particular note has the serial number 20716 in red numerals on the front in the center right. The paper of the note is stiff and retains all of its original crispiness. The note has no water mark. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: The note does not show a date but is known to have been issued in September 1915.

Printer: Unknown.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 1/2".

Pick Number: S747 and is listed in Frampton Opus as M1508.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice apparent uncirculated (with detail) with all the details being very well preserved. The note shows a bump at the left top corner of the front, which most likely happened because of miss handling and not circulation and hence our grade of Apparent Uncirculated with detail. The note has no creases, no folds, no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact with no observable roughness. Its corners are squared and have no observable rounding. A nice and scarce piece in great shape and would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
