1915 Mexico State of Sinaloa Series I Five Pesos Banknote Pick No. S1044a? UNC
Description: A nice crisp uncirculated banknote from the free and sovereign State of Sinaloa in Mexico. This is the note which conforms to the February 22, 1915 decree. It is a five peso currency note. The front has the portraits of Francisco Madero (President of the United Mexican States 1911-1913) and Pablo Benito Juárez (President of Mexico during third quarter of the 1800s) in black and white over a yellow-orange background with black writing. The back is red in color with the image of a city in the background and a woman holding a staff and a blindfolded woman on the sides of a shield having a maritime scene within it and an eagle with a serpent in its mouth on top of it. All in red over a white background. This note is a Series "I" issue. This particular note has the serial number 67406 on the front twice in red and does not display the serial number on the back. The banknote has no treasury stamp on the back and has two signatures displayed on the front. The note has no water mark that we could find. Note that the Krause catalog suggest that these notes are series A; C; D; E; G; H; J and does not mention Series I. Additionally, the catalog suggests that all these notes have a treasury seal on the back, which is not present in this note. As such this not maybe unlisted in Krause, thus we are uncertain if it is indeed pick# S1044. Please carefully review the scans presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

The note is clean, crisp and retains all of its stiffness and initial sheen. The note has no folds and its corners are intact, fully squared with no rounding. The note is clean with no tears or splits. It has no pinholes, no graffiti, no bumps. and no signs of circulation. The note's colors are vivid and all there with no fading. The note's edges are intact and show no signs of roughness. All in all a great banknote to add to your collection. Please see scans for additional condition information.
