1917 Egypt 10 Piastres Banknote Pick Number 160b Signed Youssef Wahba Very Fine Currency Note
Description: A very fine banknote from Egypt. This is the 10 piastres note issued in May 27th, 1917. The note is green on multi-colored underprint. The front depicts a stylized lotus plant border while the back which is blue in color has the image of the Colossi of Memnon in the center again with stylized lotus flowers border. The note is signed by Youssef Wahba as minister of finance. The note has no water watermark that we could find. The front also shows the denomination, date of issue, and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number 57136 and is series "B/37" which are written in English twice in black on the front. The note was printed by the Thomas De La Rue Co. of London. Pick Number: P 160b. It is also listed in the Banknote Book as B206b.
Condition: I would grade this banknote as very fine with all the details being still well preserved. The note has vertical folds, horizontal folds, general wrinkling, and creasing throughout. The corners are intact with some folds and bumps. The note is spoiled and has some light staining. especially along some of the fold lines. The edges show some wear and a few minor nicks at the ends of the folds. The not has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears and no splits. and folded.
