1924 One Pound Banknote National Bank of Egypt Hornsby Signature P18 PMG 20VF
Description: A nice very fine banknote from Egypt. This is the 7th June 1924 one pound currency note. The banknote, which was issued by the "National Bank of Egypt" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd., New Malden Surrey, England, has a red, blue, and green design on the front. It shows a camel, two Bedouins, and Cairo wall in the background in the center of the front. The front also shows Images of Statues of Pharaohs in the top two corners. The back of the note has the same color scheme as the front with a decorative pattern and the denomination as well as the name of the issuing bank in Arabic. The front is in both English and Arabic and shows the bank's name, the serial number, and the denomination, while the back is in Arabic and shows the name of the bank and denomination. The back also has the interwound initial of the bank in English letters in the center. The note is signed by Bertram Hornsby and displays his signature on the front. The note has the denomination spelled out in the center and in numerals by the left and right edges of the front. The note has the denomination in numerals only on the back. This particular note has the serial number 079,366 displayed two times in black on the front and is series H/7. The banknote has no watermark. It is graded as 20 Very Fine by PMG and come in a plastic holder that is marked as such. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
