1925 Large Pinback 19th Annual Convention Pennsylvania State BPOE in Bethlehem
Description: Offered here is a 1925 large (~6 1/2" in diameter) lithographed metal pin back made by the Whitehead & Hoag Company of Newark, NJ. This is a pinback from the 19th annual convention Pennsylvania State B.P.O.E. held in Bethlehem Pennsylvania. The front of the pinback has a large five point star with a central image of people greeting each other with the words "Hello Bill" Bethlehem Welcomes Penna. Elkdom. The points of the star has several images of Bethlehem landmarks such as the Moravian Belfry, Hill to Hill Bridge, Packer Hall Lehigh University, Liberty High School. and Bethlehem Steel Co. There is also the image of the emblem of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks with an elk having a clock within its antlers. The back of the piece has a brown colored cardboard backing with a pin missing its locking mechanism. A great 90-year old collectible from the BPOE and Pennsylvania. Size: Measures ~6 1/2" diameter and weighs a bit over 3 ounces.

Marks: Has the words "The Whitehead & Hoag Co., Newark, NJ" on the edge of the pin.
Condition: The tag is in very good used condition with some minor scratches, some soiling and few small areas of losses to the coloring and design here and there. These include a small spot along the edge of the pin above the number 19 where it was bumped and the coloring is a bit damaged and a couple of spots around the last letters "N" and "A" in the word Pennsylvania along the edge. The back has some minor losses of the covering paper especially near the bottom and the pin is missing the locking mechanism as can be seen in the last two photos. In addition, the backing cardboard is a bit domes and has a hole in the center. Other than that the piece looks great for being over 90 years old and would make a great addition to your collection.
