1927 So Crown Size Silver Coin from Chile Santiago Mint Five Pesos Winged Condor
Description: A lustrous uncirculated 1927 Chilean silver crown size coin. This is a republic decimal Five or Cinco Pesos silver coin. The coin depicts a defiant condor facing left standing on a rock with 0.9 (silver purity) under its left wing. The obverse has the legend "REPUBLICA DE CHILE" along the edge surrounding the condor. The reverse has the denomination spelled out and the date below it within a wreath with a "5" above. This is a large and heavy coin with a reeded edge. It retains quite a bit of its original luster and has great eye appeal. Please carefully review the photos presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Mint: Santiago Chile.
Size and Weight: This is a five Pesos measuring ~46 mm in diameter and weighs ~25 gm of 90% silver. The coin has a reeded edge.
References: It is KM #173.1.
Condition: For international buyers, please note that the US postal rates for overseas shipping are very high and we are unable to change them. Additional charges will be incurred depending on the value of the item. Please check the cost of shipping before bidding. I would grade this coin as a choice uncirculated with all of its being well preserved and readable and the Condor's image is just beautiful and shows the of the feathers and its head's features very well. The coin has residual mint luster and is problem free. It does have some minor scratches (see under the 5 on the reverse) and a minimum number of bag marks. These are truly nothing to worry about. It is in a nice uncirculated condition and has great eye appeal. It is better than the photos suggest. It has no observable wear commensurate with its uncirculated status. Please see photo for additional condition information.
