1932 Ethiopia Fifty Thalers Banknote Pick Number 9 Lion in the Grass PMG Very Fine 30

Description: A nice very fine Banknote from Ethiopia. This is the May 1st, 1932 Fifty Thalers currency note issued by the Bank of Ethiopia. The front of the banknote is blue-green in color on multicolored underprint with Amharic, English and French text and depict a lion standing in the grass. The front also has the image of a bank building in the upper left corner and the Ethiopian Arms in the upper right corner. The back has basically the same color scheme as the front and has Amharic text. The front shows the serial number and one signature of the governor of the Bank of Ethiopia at the time. This particular note has the serial number C/1 01799, which is displayed in black twice on the front. The note has no watermark and no security thread. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description.

Size: The banknote measures ~7 1/2" by ~3 1/2".

Pick Number: 9 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B104a.

Condition: The note is graded Very Fine 30 by PMG and comes in a plastic holder that is so marked. It has soiling folds and a heavy central crease. The holder is also marked Pinholes, which we confirmed at least one hole exists in the note. Be that as it may, it is a nice and well margined note that very seldom comes by.
