1936 ND Hong Kong One Dollar Banknote Government of Hong Kong Issue King George VI, Pick Number 312 Good Very Fine Currency
Description: A beautiful very fine banknote from Hong Kong. This is the Government of Hong Kong no date 1936 one dollar currency note. The banknote which was issued by the "Government of Hong Kong" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. has a purple design on multicolored background with the image of King George VI to the right of the front and Chinese characters in an oval to the left. The back is purple on white with the denomination in all four corners and Chinese characters in the center. The note has the denomination spelled out in the center of the front and the back. This particular note has the serial number J086142 displayed twice in black on the front. The note has one signature displayed on the front in the center of the bottom. It is undated but known to have been issued in 1936. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as very fine with all the details being well preserved. This is an attractive note with evidence of handling and minor wear. The note has three vertical folds, a horizontal fold, and general wrinkling, but appears to have been flattened. The note is soiled and has a few small and light stains. The note retains some of its original stiffness and original crispiness. The note has no tears or splits and the edges have some wear and nicks especially at the end of the central vertical fold. The corners are intact with some bumps and rounding. The colors are still vivid and the design is well preserved. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, and no tears and no splits. Note that the banknote does not look as purple in color as the scan suggest but is still beautiful and shows its colors nicely. A nice note to add to your collection.
