1940 ND Egypt 10 Piastres Banknote P# 168a Signed Fouad Serag Eldin VF+

Description: A a nice and fairly rare very fine small banknote from Egypt. This is the 10 piastres note issued according to law number 50 of 1940 and does not show the date of issue but was issued in the period November 1950 through January 1952 based on the signature of Fouad Serag Eldin. The front of the note is blue on green underprint with the portrait of King Farouk the First within a crowned oval to the right. The back is green in color on orange underprint. The note is signed by Fouad Serag Eldin as minister of finance in the period May 1950 through June 1952. The note has a watermark showing crowns and the letter "Feh" for Farouk, the king of Egypt, throughout. This particular note has the serial number 528050 and is series "F/8" which are written in both English and Arabic on the front. The note was printed by the Survey Agency of Egypt. Condition: I would grade this banknote as very fine with all the details being still well preserved. The note has vertical folds, horizontal folds, and some general wrinkling. It is soiled but no large objectionable stains. The note has a few creases, roughness along the edges, and a couple of very short tears along the edges. The corners are intact but are rounded and have bumps. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears reaching the design, and no splits. A nice banknote worthy of a spot in your collection.
