1941 Algeria 20 Francs Currency Pick Number 78c Choice Very Fine or Better Banknote
Description: A beautiful choice very fine or much better banknote from Algeria. This is the March 25, 1941 Twenty Francs or Vingt Francs. The date is shown as 25-3-1941 in the center of the front. This note is a dull purple on blue under-print. It depicts the portrait of young woman wearing a head dress at the lower right corner of the front. The back has the same coloring and has the image of two children holding a diamond having the number 20 in it. There are cactus plants to the left. The note is mostly in French with the denomination spelled out in Arabic on the front. This particular note has the serial number 84503628 located in the top center of the front. It is series D.3381 and has another number in the top right corner and bottom left corner (628). It has two signatures both in French. The banknote has watermark which says twenty francs in Arabic in a small white circle on top of a larger white circle having a water mark with a woman in a head dress facing right. Both circles are to the left of the front. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a choice very fine or much better with all the details being very well preserved. The note has three vertical folds and one horizontal fold. It is relatively clean with some soiling, but no staining. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The corners are intact with minor rounding if any. The edges are intact with no observable roughness. The note retains most of its original stiffness and crispiness. Its colors are sharp with no fading and it retains much off its original sheen.
