This particular note has the serial number 796933 displayed three times on the front and is series J/80. The note has one signature displayed on the front center near the bottom. Date: 8 January 1944.
Printer: Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd., New Malden Surrey, England.
Size: The banknote measures ~6 1/4" by ~3 3/8".
Pick Number: P 22c and is listed in the Banknote Book as B121e.
Condition: I would grade this banknote as extremely fine or much better with all the details being extremely well preserved. The note is clean with no stains. The note retains most of its original sheen, stiffness, and crispiness. It has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. Its corners are squared with minimum rounding if any. The note has a spot in the center of both the top and bottom edge where it shows minor roughness. However, we are unable to see a fold, which should be there since the roughness would normally happen because a fold exists, but most likely it happened because of bad handling as opposed to circulation. There is also a small spot of light soiling on the back at the lower edge to the left of center. These two issues are the reason we are grading the note as XF instead of AU or even uncirculated. The note shows beautiful embossing and is just great looking and in great condition. A great note worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see the scans for additional condition information.
