1944 Mozambique One Escudo Banknote Pick Number 92 Antonio Enes and Ship Images Banco Nacional Ultamarino

Description: A beautiful crisp uncirculated banknote from Mozambique on the eastern coast of Africa . This is the 23 May 1944 one Escudo issued during the Portuguese administration. The banknote has a black design on olive and multi-colored underprint on the front. The front also has the name of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino (National Overseas Bank) of Lisbon Portugal in the top margin. The banknote displays the date and the denomination on the front and only the denomination on the back. The front also depicts a the bank's seal in the lower right encompassing a steamship as well as the bust of Antonio Enes, the famous Portuguese politician and writer. The back has a multicolored design on the back with the arms in the center of the top and the denomination in the bottom center. The note has two signatures on the front. This particular note has the serial number I.2,664,445, which is displayed on the front twice in black, but is not displayed on the back. The paper of the note retains all of its original sheen, stiffness, and crispiness and the note is just in great uncirculated condition.
