1945 No Date Ethiopia 1 Dollar Banknote Emperor Haile Selassie P #12b Choice XF
Description: A nice choice extremely fine Banknote from Ethiopia. This is the no date 1945, one dollar currency note issued by the State Bank of Ethiopia. The front of the banknote has black design on orange underprint and depicts the image of emperor Haile Selassie at left and the image of a farmer plowing the land with oxen dragging the plow in the center. The back, which is green in color, depicts the image of the Ethiopian Arms which is a crowned lion with a flagged cross in its paw. The banknote does not display the date anywhere. It displays the denomination on both the front and back. It has one signature on the front and is signed Bennet. This particular note has the serial number DM 561622. The note has no watermark or a security thread that we could find. A beautiful extremely fine note that is very rare in such high grade. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.
Date: 1945.
Printer: Security Banknote Company.
Size: The banknote measures ~5 5/8" by ~3".
Pick Number: P 12b and is listed in the Banknote Book as B201b.
Condition: I would grade the banknote as choice extremely fine. The note has all of its details very well preserved and is crisp. It has squared corners and shows no roughness along the edges. It has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The note is clean and has no stains. In fact, if it was not for the light central vertical fold and a few minor light creases here and there that are difficult to see but are there, we would have graded the note About Uncirculated. Be that as it may, the note is problem free and looks great. A rare note in such a high grade, which would make a great addition to your collection.
