1946 No Date 3 Pence Note British Military First Series Issues Pick M9a XF++

Description: An extremely fine or much better banknote issued in 1946 by the British Military at the end of World War II for use in Germany and Austria. This is the 3 pence note from the first series. It is lilac on orange and green underprint on the front. It is not dated and it is unsigned. It has the denomination on the front and on the back. It has no water mark and no serial number. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: Although not dated it is known to have been issued in1946.

Printer: Thomas De La Rue & Company Ltd London.

Size: The note measures ~113 mm (~4 1/2") by ~57 mm (~2 1/4").

Pick Number: P M9a.

Condition: I would grade the first note as a choice extremely fine with all of its details being well preserved and having two vertical folds, minor soiling, no stains, no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The corners a slightly rounded with a couple of creases. The edges are intact with no appreciable wear. There is a small nick to the top edge near the left corner which is small and difficult to visualize. The note retains quite a bit of its original stiffness and crispiness. Please see photos for additional condition information.
