Description: A beautiful about uncirculated or better ten English Shillings banknote. The banknote which is signed by K. O. Peppiatt is not dated but was issued in the period 1948 through 1949. The note is brown-violet and brown on gray and pink underprint. It shows an image of a Seated Britannia to the left on the front. Britannia is seated with a spear in one hand and a branch in the other. The back has the same color scheme as the front with a large foliate design. The banknote has a watermark showing the head of woman (Minerva) wearing a large hat in the bottom center. The note is signed by K. O. Peppiatt the Chief Cashier the Bank of England at the time and has the prefix K23D. This particular note has the serial number 525160 and has a security thread left of center. The note is clean and retains most of its original stiffness and crispiness. It is clean and intact with no tears or splits. A great example of this scarce note to add to your collection. I would grade this banknote as a good about uncirculated or better with all the details being well preserved. The note has no folds and retains most of its stiffness, crispiness, and sheen. It is clean, shows some embossing and shows some waviness to the paper (the reason we are grading the note AU instead of Unc.). The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact and jhow no roughness. Its corners are intact and well squared with no rounding. A great example of this scarce banknote to add to your collection.
