1949 One Dollar Banknote Government of Hong Kong King George VI Bust P#324 XF++
Description: A beautiful choice extremely fine or much better banknote from Hong Kong. This is the Government of Hong Kong one dollar currency note issued on 9 April 1949. The banknote which was issued by the "Government of Hong Kong" and printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. has a dark green design on multicolored background with the image of King George VI to the right of the front and Chinese characters in an oval to the left. The back is green on white with the denomination in all four corners and Chinese characters in the center. The note has the denomination spelled out in the center of the front and the back. This particular note has the serial number 391373 displayed twice in black on the front and is series U/3. The note has one signature displayed on the front left of center of the bottom. The banknote has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a choice extremely fine or much better with all the details being well preserved. This is an attractive note with very light vertical and horizontal folds. The note is clean with no stains and is crisp. It is intact with no tears or splits. The banknote has no graffiti, no pinholes, and no stains. The corners are intact and fully squared with no apparent rounding and one light bump to the bottom left corner. The edges are intact with no apparent roughness except for small spots at the ends of the vertical fold. The note's colors are vivid and very fresh. A very nice note to add to your collection.
