1949 One Pound Sterling Banknote The British Linen Bank Pick 157c VF+
Description: A beautiful very fine or better banknote from Scotland. This is the 20th January 1949 one pound sterling note issued by The British Linen Bank. The note is blue and having a red sunburst and denomination spelled out on the front is red. The paper of the note is imbedded with short threads. The front shows the arms of the bank right of center near the top and seated Britannia center left. The back is blue and shows seated Britannia in the center. The front shows one signature, that of the general manager of the bank at the time. The front also displays the date and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number 081299 and it is series L/2. The banknote has no watermark. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a beautiful very fine or better. The note has one central horizontal and one central vertical crease. Other than that, it appears to have been lightly handled. It is relatively clean with no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. showing light handling. The corners are intact with slight rounding and some bumps. The edges of the note are intact with some light roughness at the edges where the folds end. Just a beautiful note worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see the photos for additional condition information.
