1952 French West Africa One Hundred Francs Banknote Pick Number 40 Beautiful Very Fine
Description: A beautiful very fine or better banknote from French West Africa. This is the 31 July 1952 issue one hundred francs banknote. The note is multi-colored and has a beautiful design of a woman with a bowl of fruit in her hand in the center of the front. The back depicts a family consisting of a man, a woman and a child again in the center. The note was issued by the Bank of Western Africa. The note has a watermark depicting a young woman's head. This particular note has the serial number 355558245 and is series J.14223. The note has two signatures on the front. Printer: Uncertain but most likely French Printing.
Size: The banknote measures ~6 3/8" by ~3 5/8".
Pick Number: P 40 and is listed in the Banknote Book as B124o.
Condition: I would grade the banknotes as a nice very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The note shows signs of circulation with minor soiling but no stains. The note has vertical folds, a horizontal fold and light wrinkling along the left edge. The note has several pinholes especially in the white circle to the right of the front. It has no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The edges are intact but have some light roughness and the corners are intact and squared with minimum rounding but have bumps and creases. The note retains some of its original stiffness, sheen, and crispiness. A great note to add to your collection. Please see the scans for additional condition information.
