1952 One Pound Sterling Banknote Clydesdale & North of Scotland Bank Pick Number 191 Beautiful Choice Very Fine Currency Note
Description: A beautiful choice very fine or better banknote from Scotland. This is the 1st. March 1952 one pound sterling note issued by Clydesdale & North of Scotland Bank. The note which is clean and retains quite a bit of its original crispiness is blue, red, and orange in color on the front and blue on the back. The front shows a docked ship on the left and a field with sheaf to the right. The back shows a river and trees. It has the denomination spelled out on the front in the center. The front shows one signature, that of the general manager of the bank at the time. It also displays the date and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number F842493. The banknote has no watermark that we could identify but has a solid security thread near the left edge. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our description.
Date: 1st. March 1952.
Printer: Unknown.
Size: The banknote measures ~5 7/8" by ~3 1/4".
Pick Number: P 191.
Condition: For international buyers, please note that the new US postal rates for overseas shipping for first class shipments are generally very high and we are unable to change them. Additional charges will be incurred depending on the value of the item. So please check the shipping cost to your location before bidding. I would grade this banknote as a beautiful very fine or much better (possibly about extremely fine). This is a very attractive note showing light handling. The note has light vertical folds, some light soiling, a few creases near the corners and a vertical stain near the right edge of the front. The note's paper retains quite a bit of its original stiffness, crispiness, and sheen. The corners show slight evidence of rounding if any and are intact with some bumping. The note has no graffiti, no pinholes, no tears, no splits and no appreciable wear to the edges. The note may have been pressed, but that does not distract from its beauty and quality. Just a beautiful note worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see the photos for additional condition information.
