1953 Government of Jamaica 5 Shillings Banknote P# 37b King George VI AU 45 EPQ
Description: A nice about uncirculated banknote with exceptional paper quality from Jamaica. This is the five shillings note issued by the Government Of Jamaica on March 1st, 1953. The note is orange in color on green-blue underprint on the front. The front of the note shows the image of King George VI to the left with the denomination to the right. The back is a pale orange on green and blue background with the Jamaica arms in the top center and the denomination in numerals and script on the left and right. The front of the banknote displays the denomination, the signature of Robert Newton, and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number 69145 with the prefix 40D printed twice in black on the front but not on the back. The note has watermark depicting a pineapple but has no security thread. This is a very nice example of this rather scarce note worthy of a spot in your collection. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.

Condition: The note is graded as About Uncirculated 55 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality) by PMG and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. The note has all of its details very well preserved. The note is intact with light soiling and a central vertical fold. As far as we can see the note has no tears and no splits. We do not observe roughness or wrinkling. It has no stains, no pinholes, and no graffiti., and its corners are intact, squared with minimum rounding, if any. A great example of this scarce banknote to add to your collection.
