1957 Bank of Spain 1000 Pesetas Banknote Catholic Royals Pick #149a Crisp XF++
Description: A beautiful rather crisp extremely fine or much better banknote issued by The Bank of Spain. This is the 29 November 1957 one thousand Pesetas currency note. The banknote is green with a pink ornate design in the background. It depicts the image of a crowned young couple, Ferdinand and Isabella, in the center of the front with the caption "Reyes Catolicos" or Catholic Royals. The back has the royal crest within a spread eagle with lions supporting it at the base. There is also a beautiful green design showing leaves, vines and birds with crowned circles. Both the front and back have the words BANCO DE ESPANA along the edge. The front has three signatures, the date, serial number and the denomination, the back shows only the denomination. This particular note has the serial number 2P9694990 in red on the front and back. The banknote has a watermark depicting the image of a crowned woman. Please carefully review the scan as it is part and parcel of our description.
Date: 29 November 1957.
Size: The banknote measures ~6 1/4" by ~4".
Pick Number: P 149a.
Condition: For international buyers, please note that new US postal rates for overseas shipping are very high and we are unable to change. Please review shipping charges to your location before making your purchase. I would grade this banknote as a crisp extremely fine or much better note with all the details being very well preserved. The note has one light central vertical fold but no horizontal folds and no wrinkling. The note has minor bumps at the top and bottom edges at the ends of the fold. It also has two pinholes below the 1000 in the top right corner of the front. Other than that the note retains most of its original crispiness and stiffness. The corners are intact and fully squared. The edges are intact and have no observable roughness, except as mentioned above. The note is clean, with no graffiti, no stains, and no splits or tears. This is a very attractive note, clean and bright with vivid colors, which would make a great addition to your collection. Please see photos for additional condition information.
