The obverse shows a globe with Americas surrounded by stars and clouds in the center and having the dates 1964-1965 below it. It also has the legend "MAN'S ACHIEVEMENTS IN AN EXPANDING UNIVERSE--NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR" surrounding the image along the edge. The reverse has the Arms of New York City surrounded by the legend "THE 500th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK-1664-1964”. The edge of the medal has the inscription "(c)1961 New York World's Fair 1964-1965Corporation Unisphere Presented by (USS) United States Steel-Medallic Art Co. N.Y. Bronze”. The medal comes in its original box of issue and has the literature describing the medal. The box has two wire closures, one of which snaped off when attempting to bend it to close the box. This is a nice-looking medal (weighs 154 grams and is ~64 mm in diameter) with great eye appeal, which would make a worthy addition to any collection. Please carefully review the photos as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1964.

Origin: New York City.

Artist: Designed by John B. This is a nice-looking large medal (weighs 154 grams and is ~64 mm in diameter) with great eye appeal, which would make a worthy addition to any collection. The fields are clear with minimum surface marks. The design shows no observable wear and the medal has great eye appeal. The original box is intact with some soiling and stains. It has two wire bendable clips to close it, one of the clips broke off while the second partially broke as we attempted to bend them to close the box after photographing. We expect the second wire clip to break when the box is opened again. The pamphlet is intact and clean. A nice historic World's Fair piece to add to your collection. Please view photos for additional condition information and to appreciate the beauty of the piece.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0399/0717/files/MED112225d-22_8895b392-8af8-48f9-918c-6a4f9365febc.jpg?v=1773158536
https://giamerantiquesandcollectibles.com/products/1964-1965-new-york-worlds-fair-bronze-medal-corporation-unisphere-by-us-steel
