1964 France 10 Francs Currency Note Depicting Voltaire Pick Number 147a Beautiful Extremely Fine or Much Better Banknote

  • $ 109.99

Description:  A beautiful extremely fine or much batter Banknote from France. This is the 6-2-1964 or February 6, 1964 ten francs banknote. This is a very colorful banknote showing on the front the image of Voltaire to the right with a chateau in the center and a white circle to the left on a multi-colored background. The front also has trees, a water body, and a very colorful border. The front shows the denomination, serial number as well as the date of issue. The back is as colorful as the front again showing Voltaire to the left, a chateau in the center and the white circle to the right. The white circle has the watermark again showing the bust of Voltaire. Voltaire is the famous French writer, historian and philosopher who lived in 18th century France. The note shows the denomination on the back. This particular note has the serial number 81788 and is series E.74. The note shows paper originality and retains most of its crispiness. Please carefully review the scan presented as it is part and parcel of our  description.

Date: 6-2-1964.

Printer: Bank of France.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 7/8" by ~3 1/4".

Pick Number: 147a.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice extremely fine or possibly about uncirculated with all of its details being very well preserved. The note has light wrinkling to the paper. Other than that the note is very nice original state with no creases, folds, pinholes, graffiti, soiling or stains. The corners are intact, nicely squared with no rounding at all. The note retains its original crispiness and is just great looking. A great condition for this rather rare banknote. Please see photo for additional condition information.
