1966 Bermuda 10 Shillings Pick Number 19c Young Queen Elizabeth II Beautiful Fine or Much Better Banknote
Description: A beautiful fine or much better banknote from Bermuda. This is the 1st October 1966, Ten Shillings banknote issued by the Bermuda Government. The banknote has a red design over multicolor under-print. It depicts the image of a young Queen Elizabeth II facing right in the center with the image of Gate's Fort in St. George in a rectangular frame below her on the front. The black has the same color scheme as the front and depicts Bermuda's Arms in the center flanked by the denomination. The banknote displays the date and the denomination on the front but only the denomination on the back. The note has two signatures on the front. This particular note has the serial number 908296 and is series V/I both displayed twice in black on the front but again not on the back. The note has no watermark that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: The note is dated 1st October 1966.
Printer: Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. Ltd of New Malden, Surrey, England.
Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 3/4".
Pick Number: P 19c.
Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice fine or much better with all the details being still well preserved. The note is of thick and heavy stiff paper. The note may have been flattened and has several vertical folds and a horizontal crease. It also has signs of general wrinkling. It is lightly soiled has two small stains, one black at the left edge of the front and one blue near the top edge of the back. It also has a few minor marks or stains here and there that can be barley seen. The corners are intact and fairly squared with minor rounding. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, and tears or splits. The edges of the note are intact but show some minor roughness. If it was not for the heavy horizontal crease, we would have graded the note a good very fine instead of the fine grade we are giving it. A great example of this scarce note to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
