1966 Bermuda One Pound Pick Number 20c Young Queen Elizabeth II Beautiful Very Fine Banknote
Description: A beautiful very fine banknote from Bermuda. This is the 1st October 1966 one pound banknote issued by the Bermuda Government. The banknote has a blue design over green and orange under-print. It depicts the image of a young Queen Elizabeth II facing right to the right of the front and the image of Somerset Bridge in Sandys Parish to the left of the front. The back has the same color scheme as the front and depicts Bermuda's Arms in the center flanked by the denomination. The banknote displays the date and the denomination on the front but only the denomination on the back. The note has two signatures on the front. This particular note has the serial number 229838 and is series U/2 both displayed twice in black on the front but again not on the back. The note has no watermark or security strip that we could find. Please carefully review the scans presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
Date: The note is dated 1st October 1966.
Printer: Bradbury Wilkinson & Co. Ltd of New Malden, Surrey, England.
Size: The banknote measures ~5 1/2" by ~2 3/4".
Pick Number: P 20c.
Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice very fine with all the details being still well preserved. The note is of thick and heavy stiff paper. The note may have been flattened and has several vertical folds and a horizontal folds. It also has signs of general wrinkling. It is lightly soiled has one small stain at the right edge near the top corner of the front. It also has a few minor marks or stains here and there that can be barley seen. The corners are intact and fairly squared with minor rounding. The note has two pinholes, looks like a staple was removed, which can be seen near the right top corner on the back but is not visible from the front. It has no graffiti, no tears and no splits. The edges of the note are intact but show some minor roughness. A great example of this scarce note to add to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition
