1966 ND Currency Ethiopia One Dollar Banknote Emperor Haile Selassie P#25a XF++

  • $ 49.99

Description: A nice extremely fine or much better Banknote from Ethiopia. This is the undated 1966, one dollar currency note issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia. The front of the banknote is green on multi colored underprint. It depicts the image of emperor Haile Selassie at right and the image of Massawa Harbor City at center. The back depicts the image of the Ethiopian Arms which is a crowned lion passant with a flagged cross in its paw. The banknote does not display the date anywhere. It displays the denomination on both the front and back. It has one signature on the front. This particular note has the serial number FE719547. The note retains most of its original stiffness and if did not have a light fold and the finger prints on the back, we would grade it About Uncirculated to Uncirculated. A nice banknote to add to your collection. Please carefully review the scans as they are part and parcel of our description.

Date: 1966.

Printer: Thomas De La Rues & Company Limited of United Kingdom.

Size: The banknote measures ~5 3/4" by ~2 1/2".

Pick Number: P 25a and is listed in the Banknote Book as B301a.

Condition: I would grade this banknote as a nice extremely fine or much better with all the details being very well preserved. The note still retains most of its original stiffness, crispiness, and sheen. The note has a light central vertical fold and finger prints in the bottom right corner of the back. Other than that, the note is clean with no roughness to the edges. Its corners are intact and fully squared with no bumps. The note has no pinholes, no graffiti, no tears, and no splits. The note is well margined and in nice extremely fine or much better condition. It would make a nice addition to your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
