1968 Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corp 500 Dollar Banknote Thomas Jackson Image - Pick Number 179c PMG Very Fine 25
Description: A nice very fine large banknote from Hong Kong. This is The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation 500 dollar note dated February 11, 1968. The banknote was printed by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Co. Ltd. It is brown in color with a blue and multi-colored background. It depicts the image of Sir Thomas Jackson (Chief Manager of HSBC in the period 1876-1902) to the right of the front with Hong Kong arms in the top center of the front. The back is green in color and shows the image of the bank building in the center with the image of an allegorical female head to the left. The note has two signatures and is in English and Chinese. It has a water mark depicting the same allegorical female facing right to the left of the front. This particular note has the serial number K021974, displayed twice in black on the front. The note is graded by PMG as Very Fine 25 and comes in a plastic holder so labeled. Note that the holder refers to this note as Pick# 179e, which is incorrect. The note is actually Pick# 179c.
