Description: A nice crisp uncirculated banknote from Portuguese Guinea or Guine. This is the December 17, 1971 Fifty Escudos banknote issued by the Banco Nacional Ultramarino. The banknote is olive green over multicolored underprint on the front. The front displays the image of Nuno Tristao, the 15th century explorer to the right and the Portuguese arms in the center above the denomination. This is the note known as "DECRETOS-LEIS 39221 e 44891". The back of the note has the same color scheme as the front. It shows the image of a woman on a pier with ships (from various eras) in the water in front of her and the seal of the Banco Nacional Ultramarino in the bottom left corner. The front has two signatures, the date of issue, and the serial number. This particular note has the serial number 569233. The note has a watermark depicting the image of Nuno Tristao and solid security thread right of center. A great note to add to your collection. Condition: I would grade this banknote as a crisp uncirculated with all the details being very well preserved. The note has no folds, no creases, no wrinkling, no soiling, and no stains.
